Overnight Russian Strikes Kill Seven in Ukraine

Russian missile and drone strikes killed at least seven people across Ukraine overnight , Ukrainian authorities said, with five deaths reported in Dnipro. Officials said the attacks also hit Odesa and Kharkiv, leaving at least 34 people injured and damaging residential buildings and infrastructure.

Ukrainian authorities described the barrage as the largest in several days and said it involved drones as well as cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, said the strikes lasted “practically all night,” and reported fires and destruction affecting apartment blocks, businesses, and private homes.

Officials also reported that one additional person was killed in a later strike in the Dnipro region on Saturday afternoon. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia’s approach had not changed and accused Moscow of continuing to target civilian infrastructure.

At the same time, Ukraine carried out long-range drone strikes into Russian territory, according to reports from the Russian side. In the Belgorod border region, officials said one incident killed a woman and seriously injured a man.

The overnight attacks came a day after a prisoner exchange on Friday in which Russia and Ukraine each returned 193 service members, according to the information provided. The exchange and the subsequent strikes underscored how military operations and limited humanitarian arrangements have continued in parallel.
