Norwegian prosecutors have formally requested a prison sentence exceeding seven years for Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The request, made on Wednesday, concludes the prosecution's arguments in a six-week trial at the Oslo district court, where Høiby faces a total of 39 charges, including four counts of rape.

The state attorney, Sturla Henriksbø, highlighted the severe nature of the accusations, noting they involve some of Norway's most serious integrity violations. The prosecution specifically sought a sentence of seven years and seven months. Additionally, they requested a two-year prohibition on contacting one of the alleged victims, the confiscation of electronic devices such as iPhones and a MacBook, and a two-year driving ban followed by a mandatory retest.
