EU Official Cancels Serbia Visit Over Mladic Honors

A senior European Union official has canceled a planned diplomatic trip to Serbia, citing Belgrade's decision to provide state-sanctioned honors for convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic. Marta Kos, who serves as the EU enlargement commissioner, announced her decision on Friday after Mladic's remains arrived in Belgrade for a state-supported funeral, which included a military guard of honor.

Ratko Mladic, infamously known as the 'Butcher of Bosnia,' died at 84 on August 27 while serving a life sentence for genocide and war crimes.
