This move follows a commutation of her remaining sentence by military leader Min Aung Hlaing.

Her sentence had been reduced multiple times prior to this latest development. State media broadcast an image of her with uniformed personnel, though her son expressed skepticism regarding the announcement's veracity and the recency of the photograph.

The transfer signifies a change in her confinement conditions, though independent verification of her current status and health remains unavailable. Aung San Suu Kyi previously spent over 15 years under house arrest during earlier periods of military rule in Myanmar, before leading the country following democratic reforms in 2015.
