Syracuse Officers Shot During Warrant Execution Two Syracuse police officers were shot and a third injured on Saturday morning during the execution of a search warrant in the Pioneer Homes area, south of downtown Syracuse. All three officers were transported to Upstate University Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

The incident began around 6 a.m. with calls to the Pioneer Homes area, including a report of a person injuring a dog with a machete. Officers subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence. During the warrant execution, two officers sustained gunshot wounds, and a third officer was injured by unspecified means. Officers returned fire at the suspect.

As of midday, the scene remained active, with additional exchanges of gunfire reported shortly asourceser noon and 12:30 p.m. The suspect, who reportedly fired shots from a window with a shotgun, was barricaded at 120 Tyler Court within the Pioneer Homes complex.

No suspect was in custody, and authorities did not specify the number of suspects involved. Emergency services, including SWAT, multiple law enforcement agencies, and fire department units, were on site, and a reverse-911 warning was issued to local residents to avoid the area.
