UFC Plans White House Fight Event on Trump’s Birthday

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is building an octagonal cage on the White House South Lawn for a June 14 fight event that coincides with President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday. Officials said the event is part of planned celebrations tied to America’s 250th anniversary, and construction is already underway.

The temporary arena is expected to hold more than 4,000 spectators. Organizers also plan a “UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest” on the White House Ellipse grounds, where 75,000 to 100,000 people could watch the fights for free, officials said.

Weigh-ins are planned to take place at the Lincoln Memorial, according to officials. President Trump has said tickets are in high demand.

Logistics and ticket allocation

Ticket distribution is expected to be split among UFC President Dana White, President Trump, TKO Group Holdings CEO Ari Emanuel, and members of the U.S. military, according to details described in the reporting. The event is designed as a temporary build on the South Lawn with seating for thousands.

Organizers have presented the Ellipse fan-fest as a large public viewing area, separate from the ticketed event on the White House grounds. Officials said attendance at the fan-fest could reach 75,000 to 100,000 people.

Trump’s ties to UFC and anniversary plans

White has said Trump raised the idea of holding a UFC event at the White House, and that planning discussions moved quickly once the proposal was made. The event reflects a long-running relationship between Trump and the UFC that dates to the sport’s early years, when Trump allowed events at his properties.

White House spokesman Davis Ingle said the UFC event would be a major sports occasion and framed it as part of Trump’s plans to mark the 250th anniversary celebrations.

Officials have signaled that additional anniversary-related events are also being discussed, and the White House fight planning is expected to continue in the lead-up to June 14.
