Ukraine Strikes Russian Missile Component Factory

Ukrainian forces struck the Russian city of Bryansk on Tuesday, targeting the Kremniy El factory, which produces components for Russian missiles. The attack, which Russian authorities attributed to seven British Storm Shadow missiles, resulted in six civilian deaths and 42 injuries, according to Bryansk Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the strike, stating that the target was a plant producing control systems for Russian missiles.

While Russian officials did not report damage to the plant, Ukraine's General Staff claimed the facility, located approximately 60 miles inside Russia, sustained significant damage to its production capabilities. The Kremniy El factory is described as a major microelectronics enterprise with over 1,700 employees. The incident highlights Ukraine's capability to target high-value sites within Russia despite Russian air defenses.

The Kremlin's spokesman, Dmitri S. Peskov, suggested British involvement in the strike, though he provided no evidence. Britain has supplied Ukraine with Storm Shadow missiles, which have a range exceeding 150 miles. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack as a deliberate targeting of civilians, while Ukraine maintains it only strikes military targets.
