Microsoft opens $49.99 Xbox Nano controller preorders
The smaller gamepad is $15 below the standard model and targets mobile play, younger gamers and users with smaller hands.

Microsoft opened preorders on Oct. 14 for the Xbox Nano Controller at $49.99, a smaller gamepad, according to a Notebookcheck article citing Xbox Store and Xbox Wire.
The device costs $15 less than the standard Xbox controller's $64.99 list price before discounts, giving Xbox buyers a lower-priced Microsoft accessory for portable play and smaller hands.
The Nano measures just over 5 inches long and weighs 3.5 ounces, making it smaller and lighter than the iPhone 18 Pro, according to the article. Microsoft materials say it is designed to “fit in most pockets,” and the company is aiming it at younger players and users with smaller hands.
Microsoft kept the standard Xbox button layout while adding a programmable action button for screenshots, gameplay recording and other shortcuts, Notebookcheck reported. The controller supports Xbox Wireless for Xbox consoles and Bluetooth for PCs, Android and iOS devices, and smart TVs.
The lower price comes with limitations. Notebookcheck said the Nano lacks Hall effect or TMR drift-free joysticks, magnetic sensor designs used to limit stick drift, and its rechargeable battery charges only by USB-C rather than existing Xbox controller charging stations.
Atlas360 reported Oct. 14 that the U.S. launch is scheduled for Nov.
