US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will conduct a diplomatic tour of India from October 17–22 to advance bilateral energy cooperation and strategic alignment. The itinerary includes stops in Mumbai and Jamnagar, where he will engage with senior government officials and private sector leaders.
The visit to Jamnagar is significant due to the presence of large-scale refinery infrastructure. This follows recent announcements regarding a $300 billion joint refinery project in Texas involving Reliance Industries, signaling a deepening of industrial and energy-sector integration between the two nations.
Prior to the India visit, Rubio will attend the C5+1 Ministerial in Uzbekistan to address regional security and economic ties with Central Asian states. The delegation will include over 200 business leaders, underscoring a broader US objective to expand commercial investment and trade influence across both Central Asia and the Indian market.
These engagements serve to reinforce the existing strategic partnership and address regional geopolitical dynamics. The focus remains on securing energy supply chains and fostering long-term economic cooperation.
