The incident occurred as Frontier Airlines Flight 4345, an Airbus A321 bound for Los Angeles with 224 passengers and seven crew members, was initiating takeoff from runway 17L.

The individual, who has not been identified but is believed to be an airport employee, reportedly breached a perimeter fence and entered the runway area. Following the collision, the pilot aborted takeoff, and passengers were evacuated via emergency slides. Twelve individuals sustained injuries, with five requiring hospitalization. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been notified, and runway 17L remains closed for investigation.

Authorities, including local law enforcement, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), are investigating the security breach and the circumstances surrounding the incident. This event follows a separate fatal incident at Orlando International Airport on Thursday, November 14, where a Delta Airlines employee died asourceser being struck by a vehicle near an aircrasources.
