The family of British nationals Lindsay and Craig Foreman, detained in Iran, reported losing contact with the couple in early March 2025. The couple was arrested in January 2025 while on a motorcycle trip through Iran. Their son, Joe Bennett, stated that communication ceased over a week ago, leading to fears for their safety. The family's campaign group indicated that telephone access, their primary link to the outside world, was discontinued after the Foremans spoke to media outlets, expressing feelings of abandonment and concern over efforts to secure their release.
The British Foreign Office advises against all travel to Iran, citing a significant risk of arrest or detention for British nationals. The Foreign Office previously described the couple's sentences as "completely appalling and totally unjustifiable," affirming their welfare as a government priority.
