Delta Goodrem and Magda Szubanski share cancer diagnosis stories
Delta Goodrem and Magda Szubanski have both shared accounts of experiencing vivid dreams shortly before receiving their respective cancer diagnoses.

Singer Delta Goodrem and actor Magda Szubanski have both publicly detailed experiencing unsettling nighttime dreams shortly before receiving their respective cancer diagnoses. Goodrem, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2003, described waking at 3:31 a.m. in a state of extreme distress following a nightmare involving a dark figure on a grave.
Goodrem shared the account during an August 2025 appearance on the Begin Again podcast, noting that the experience prompted her to seek medical attention. She characterized the subsequent diagnosis as a life-altering event that, while initially perceived as a death sentence, ultimately shaped her personal development over the following two decades.
Szubanski, known for her role in the television series Kath & Kim, recently disclosed that she also experienced a premonition-like dream in February 2025. Her account follows Goodrem’s public reflection on the psychological impact of her own health battle, which Goodrem described as being akin to a bomb detonating within a household.
