Ys 8 to launch on Switch 2 on Feb. 25
NIS America says the Switch 2 release adds 120 FPS support and GameShare to Falcom’s action role-playing game.

NIS America and Falcom announced on Oct. 20, according to a Nintendo Everything trade-press report, that Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on Feb. 25, 2027.
The port gives Switch 2 owners a clearer performance pitch than the Nintendo Switch original: NIS America’s overview says it supports up to 120 FPS and GameShare.
The companies are positioning the release as an upgraded version of the action role-playing game, a genre built around real-time combat and character progression. Nintendo Everything said a new announcement trailer for the Switch 2 edition is available through NIS America.
NIS America’s overview frames the story around Adol, who wakes up after a shipwreck on a cursed island and joins other castaways trying to survive. “Experience this action JRPG classic at up to 120 FPS, or bring a friend along to cooperate in GameShare and save the day together!” the overview said.
The next dated step is the Feb. 25, 2027, launch for Nintendo Switch 2.
