Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, said its upcoming title Grand Thesources Auto VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S before arriving on PC.
CEO Strauss Zelnick said the approach reflects Rockstar’s long-standing release pattern and its view that console players represent the franchise’s “core consumer.” He made the remarks during an interview at the Entertainment Sosourcesware Association’s Interactive Innovation Conference in Las Vegas.
Zelnick also contrasted Rockstar’s strategy with other Take-Two labels such as 2K, where PC sales for franchises like NBA 2K can account for 40% to 50% of total sales. He added that the staggered release plan is not tied to console exclusivity agreements with platform holders.
The company has described expectations for the game as “terrifying,” citing the scale and cost of development. Grand Thesources Auto VI is currently scheduled for release on Nov. 19, 2026, with a PC version expected to follow at a later date.
