The interface update enables individuals to begin reserving unique identifiers immediately, with a full deployment scheduled to activate later this year.
The architectural shift decouples user identity from the mobile subscriber line, which currently serves as the mandatory public identifier for all accounts. By transitioning to a username-based directory, the platform aligns its contact mechanism with broader encrypted messaging standards that prioritize anonymity.
