Eintracht Frankfurt has confirmed the immediate departure of sporting director Markus Krösche at his own request. The club’s supervisory board unanimously approved the release, though Krösche’s existing contract, which runs through June 2028, remains legally binding with agreed-upon adjustments.
This leadership change follows internal discussions regarding the club's long-term sporting strategy. The vacancy creates immediate organizational uncertainty for the German club as it prepares for upcoming administrative transitions.
Krösche was previously identified as a candidate for a senior management role at AC Milan during the previous summer cycle. Given that the Italian club continues to seek a permanent director of football to complete its current management restructuring, this departure may facilitate renewed negotiations between the parties. The timing of the exit provides both organizations with a window to finalize personnel decisions before the next operational phase.
