Microsoft Unveils New AI Tools for PCs and Cloud
Microsoft is showcasing new artificial intelligence (AI) software development tools for personal computers and cloud platforms at its annual developer conference in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 2. CEO Satya Nadella is expected to detail the company's strategy for competing in both cloud AI and the expanding PC AI market.
The company aims to integrate AI capabilities directly into its Windows operating system, which has approximately 1 billion users. This includes efforts to make agentic AI tools, such as OpenClaw, safer and more accessible for businesses. OpenClaw, an open-source software, directs AI bots to perform routine tasks and has seen increased adoption, particularly in China.
Further announcements are anticipated regarding Microsoft's utilization of a new Nvidia chip, unveiled Monday, designed to bring AI directly to PCs. This chip is intended for laptops priced to compete with Apple's premium offerings. Microsoft is also expected to provide updates on its proprietary AI models, which are designed to compete with offerings like OpenAI's Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code in areas such as code completion.
