Cornell men’s soccer beats No. 23 Princeton, stays unbeaten in Ivy
Cornell men’s soccer defeated No. 23 Princeton 1–0 on Saturday, remaining the only undefeated team in the Ivy League with a 4–0–0 conference record.

Cornell University’s men’s soccer team defeated No. 23 Princeton 1-0 on Saturday, extending its undefeated streak in Ivy League play to four games. The victory improves Cornell’s conference record to 4-0-0 and its overall standing to 8-3-0.
Freshman forward Andrew Miles secured the win in the 57th minute, heading in a cross from senior captain and midfielder Connor Miller. The goal broke a scoreless deadlock in a match where Cornell outshot the Tigers 6-5 and led 5-2 in corner kicks.
Head coach John Smith credited the team's defensive performance for preserving the lead against a nationally ranked opponent. "It took some very good defensive plays in our own penalty area to keep Princeton off the board," Smith said.
Freshman goalkeeper Reuben Clarson made his first collegiate start in the win, replacing junior Filip Versterre. The victory keeps Cornell as the only undefeated team in the Ivy League, positioning the program to potentially host the conference tournament for the first time since the event's 2023 inception.
Cornell travels to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday to face Bucknell University. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on +.
