Tubi expands library with Spider-Man and prestige horror titles

Tubi, the ad-supported streaming platform owned by Fox Corp., is expanding its U.S. library this October with high-profile studio films and proprietary originals to compete with subscription-based rivals. The service added Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home in early October, titles that have already reached the platform's top-tier viewing charts, according to the company.

The platform is also targeting seasonal demand with horror content, including the 2019 film Midsommar and the Oct. 19 premiere of the found-footage satire Late Night with the Devil. These licensed additions are paired with a growing slate of original productions, such as the R.L. Stine adaptation Pumpkinhead 2, which premiered Oct. 9, and the thriller Psycho Side Chick, released Oct. 16.

By balancing evergreen hits like the 1999 drama The Green Mile—which remains a top performer—with new licensed content like David Fincher’s The Social Network, Tubi aims to lower the barrier for viewers sensitive to monthly subscription costs. The strategy focuses on maintaining engagement through a consistent release calendar that spans family-friendly content and genre-specific horror.
