Binance shuts mining pool as trading business remains open

Binance announced on October 13, 2026, that it will close Binance Pool and related mining services, narrowing part of its crypto infrastructure offering without extending the move to its main trading business. Reaction pending.

The company asked users to redirect mining devices to other pools and exit the Pool Savings product, according to the announcement. The notice points to an operational shift for miners that used Binance as both a pool operator and a platform for yield-linked balances.

Binance Pool exit narrows mining services

The closure affects Binance Pool and connected services, not the exchange’s core buying and selling functions, the company said. That distinction matters for users assessing whether the decision changes access to spot or other trading activity on the platform.

For miners, the immediate mechanism is practical rather than price-based: hash power must be pointed to alternative pools, and balances in Pool Savings must be withdrawn or moved.

If the migration is orderly, the effect on Binance is limited to a narrower services menu; if users face delays, support and trust in adjacent products may become the pressure point.

For the wider crypto sector, the move could shift some mining activity toward rival pools, depending on where Binance Pool users redirect devices. The macro link is indirect: mining infrastructure affects network participation and fee distribution, but the announcement does not by itself change Binance’s trading operations.

The next test comes in the 24 hours after the October 13, 2026 announcement: whether users can complete pool redirection and Pool Savings exits without reported service disruption.
