Accordion adds 50 engineers in Stride AI acquisition

Accordion acquired Stride on Tuesday, adding around 50 Forward Deployed Engineers, according to an Oct. 13 Business Wire press release from the New York-based consulting firm.

The Oct. 13 press release said the deal extends Accordion’s base of more than 1,700 professionals across 11 offices. For private-equity clients, the stated aim is to pair software engineers with finance specialists already working inside portfolio-company operations.

Accordion describes itself in the press release as a finance consulting firm built around private-equity work, data and artificial intelligence. Stride is described as a software-engineering firm that builds AI systems and custom software for enterprise clients in healthcare, financial services and other regulated industries.

Agentic systems are AI tools designed to carry out tasks through workflows, rather than only generate text or analysis. Accordion said Stride’s engineers work embedded inside client teams, a model the buyer said fits its own work with finance and operations functions at private-equity-backed businesses.

Kyle Roemer, Accordion’s managing director and global head of data and AI, said in the press release: “Stride provides us with the elite engineering strength to pair with our operational teams, delivering agentic workflows and AI systems for PE-backed companies at scale.”

Accordion said Stride’s presence in Latin America broadens its delivery base beyond its existing teams in North America, Europe and India. The company did not disclose the purchase price, Stride’s revenue, expected cost effects or any regulatory approvals tied to the transaction.

Stride was led by Debbie Madden, its founder and chairwoman, and Francisco Martin, its chief executive. Accordion said Madden will join as managing director and AI GTM leader, while Martin will become managing director and AI product and engineering leader.

Nick Leopard, Accordion’s chief executive, said in the press release that the deal combines engineers who have shipped AI systems in regulated industries with finance professionals who understand portfolio-company finance functions. The release frames the transaction as a response to demand for deployed AI work, but gives no customer count or contract value.

The acquisition follows other 2026 moves described on Accordion’s Business Wire newsroom page. Accordion named Roemer global head of data and AI in a Sept. 14 release, and said then that the data, analytics and AI part of the business had doubled since he joined in October 2024.

Accordion also announced an April 7 acquisition of A5, described in that release as a global Salesforce consulting firm. On May 19, the company announced leadership appointments for operational and technical accounting and finance transformation, according to another Business Wire release.

Accordion said the Stride deal will add engineering capacity for its own AI-enabled finance products. It did not give a launch date, product names or financial targets for that roadmap.
