Calif. CEO Charged Over Nvidia GPU Smuggling

Greg Lui, chief executive of server provider Earthmade Computer, was charged on October 2, 2026, with falsifying export documents to ship about $300 million of Nvidia RTX 4090 and 5090 graphics processing units to China via Malaysia and Singapore, officials said.

Officials said the charging document alleges shipments were relabeled and routed through Malaysia and Singapore to obscure their final destination. The indictment names the GPU models and the approximate $300 million value of the goods, the officials added.

Charges over RTX 4090, 5090 Officials said the case involves routes the U.S. export regime seeks to block for high-performance chips. They said the alleged scheme used intermediary shippers and falsified paperwork to conceal the end user and destination.

The charges could increase enforcement scrutiny of firms that handle high-end accelerators and of logistics chains that route components through third countries, officials said. That scrutiny may extend to freight forwarders, distributors and resellers that move advanced chips across multiple jurisdictions.

Court records should list any arraignment or related filings by October 9, 2026. Officials said further details, including any scheduled court dates, will be available in public docket entries.
