YouTube TV rolls out customizable multiview

YouTube TV said it launched a fully customizable multiview feature for subscribers on April 28, 2026, expanding how viewers can watch live programming on the service.

The update lets users choose up to four live channels and display them at the same time on a single screen. YouTube TV said selections can be made from nearly the entire channel lineup included in a subscriber’s plan.

From curated grids to user-built layouts

The new option builds on YouTube TV’s multiview feature first introduced in March 2023. Earlier versions were limited to pre-set combinations, largely focused on sports and news.

YouTube TV’s prior multiview packages included sports and news channels tied to major events, including March Madness and NFL Sunday Ticket. The company later expanded multiview beyond sports to include non-sports programming on popular channels, but it still did not offer full customization.

Who gets access and what content can be included

YouTube TV said the customizable multiview experience is available to subscribers on its main plan, which is priced at $82.99 per month and includes over 100 channels. The company also said subscribers to its recently introduced lower-priced genre plans can use the feature.

According to YouTube TV, personalized multiview layouts can also include content from add-ons, including NFL Sunday Ticket. The company described the change as a broader expansion of multiview availability across its service.

How the feature works on the back end

YouTube TV said the multiview streams are processed on the server side. The company said this approach removes the need for specialized hardware on the user’s device to combine multiple live feeds.

On the user interface side, YouTube TV said it has added a new staging area to help viewers build their multiview setup. The staging area includes categories such as “Recommended,” “Sports,” and “News” to support channel selection.
