Fery and Zverev Advance to Wimbledon Semifinals, Kostyuk and Noskova Meet in Women's Last Four

British wildcard Arthur Fery and German second seed Alexander Zverev have secured their places in the Wimbledon semifinals, setting up a high-stakes encounter at the All England Club. Fery, ranked 114th globally, advanced on Wednesday after defeating Flavio Cobolli 6-4, 7-6, 6-0. This victory makes him the first wildcard to reach the men's semifinals since 2001.

Zverev also progressed by defeating Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4, 6-2, marking his initial appearance in the tournament's final four. Fery's advancement represents a notable statistical anomaly, as he is only the third-lowest ranked male player to reach this stage of Wimbledon since 1985.

Men's Semifinalists Emerge

His impressive run leads to a Friday showdown against Zverev, who aims to clinch his first Wimbledon title. Zverev would join Boris Becker and Michael Stich as the only German men in the Open era to reach the semifinals across all four Grand Slam tournaments.

The German second seed, at 29 years old, will be a strong favorite against Fery. The winner will face either reigning champion Jannik Sinner or Novak Djokovic in the final, who are competing in the other men's semifinal.

Women's Draw Sees New Challengers

In the women's singles, Marta Kostyuk and Linda Noskova have also secured their spots in the semifinals. Kostyuk defeated Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2, while Noskova overcame Elise Mertens with a 6-3, 7-5 victory. These matches will determine who advances to the tournament finals scheduled for this weekend.

Kostyuk, who reached her second consecutive Grand Slam semifinal, will meet Czech ninth seed Noskova. Noskova, 21, has had a strong grass-court season, reaching her first Grand Slam semifinal and winning her second WTA title in Berlin prior to Wimbledon.
