Vikings Sign Quarterback Kyler Murray

The Minnesota Vikings signed veteran quarterback Kyler Murray on Thursday, March 12, 2026, adding an experienced player to their roster. Murray, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, joins the Vikings after playing 87 regular-season games for the Arizona Cardinals.

Murray's tenure with the Cardinals included a 38-48-1 starting record and 13 game-winning drives. In 2025, he played five games, completing 110 of 161 passes for 962 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions, achieving a passer rating of 88.6. He also led the Cardinals with 173 rushing yards through the first five weeks of that season. Over his career with Arizona, Murray completed 1,974 of 2,941 passes for 20,460 yards, 121 touchdowns, and 60 interceptions, with a career passer rating of 92.2 and a 67.1% completion rate.

The acquisition of Murray, who will turn 29 in August, follows a season where Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy, 23, started 10 games but missed time due to injuries. The move aligns with the Vikings' stated goal in January to enhance quarterback room depth and competitiveness for the 2026 season.
