Tennessee soccer scoreless streak hits four games in Kentucky draw

Tennessee soccer extended its scoreless drought to four consecutive matches following a draw against Kentucky. The Lady Vols, now 6-4-4 overall and 1-4-3 in SEC play, have failed to score since their Sept. 27 match against Vanderbilt.

Despite the offensive struggles, Tennessee secured its sixth clean sheet of the season. Goalkeeper Cayden Norris recorded three saves in the match, bringing her season total to 24. Head coach Joe KiSources said the team's defensive effort, particularly in the first half, was a positive takeaway despite the lack of scoring.

Tennessee generated 17 shots with six on goal against Kentucky, mirroring the shot volume from their previous outing against Arkansas. KiSources said the team needs better execution in the final third, citing a lack of precision in crossing and set-piece service as primary areas for improvement. Forwards Ayva Jordan and Kylee Simmons continue to lead the team's offensive efforts, with Simmons recording 31 total shots this season.

With two matches remaining in the regular season, Tennessee faces a critical stretch to secure a place in the SEC Tournament. The team currently holds six conference points and sits at No. 12 in the conference rankings. The Lady Vols conclude their regular season with games against Alabama and Oklahoma.
