Russia Launches Massive Missile and Drone Attack Across Ukraine

Russia launched a broad overnight assault on Ukraine, firing more than 40 missiles alongside over 650 drones in one of the largest coordinated attacks this year. At least 15 people were killed and dozens injured as strikes hit Kyiv as well as the cities of Dnipro, Odesa and Kharkiv, according to Ukrainian officials.

Spillover to Russian territory At the same time, authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar region said Ukrainian strikes hit the Black Sea port city of Tuapse. Residential buildings were damaged and two children were reported killed. Debris also fell near industrial facilities in the port area, which includes a major refinery owned by Rosneft.

Broader military implications The exchange highlights a continuing escalation pattern, with both sides targeting not only military assets but also infrastructure tied to energy and logistics. For Russia, large-scale aerial attacks remain a central tactic aimed at weakening Ukraine’s resilience.
