Data showed listing proceeds surpassed $9 billion in July–September, and officials noted that heavy issuance comes despite a recent slump in the Sensex.
IPO pipeline exceeds 200 firms
Officials said the pipeline spans large-cap and mid-cap issuers and includes a mix of privatizations, technology companies and industrials. The volume of planned listings will lengthen the supply calendar and, officials warned, may force price adjustments on new issues if investor demand does not keep pace.
Market participants said investor appetite has been selective this year; officials described arrangements to stagger listings to reduce overlap. The sequence and pricing of near-term offerings will determine whether the market absorbs supply without wider secondary-market pressure, they said.
Officials highlighted that the $9 billion in listing proceeds for July–September sets a baseline for issuance this fiscal year, but conversion from pipeline to completed float is uncertain. Watch the October–November schedule: officials expect the busiest window to clarify whether more than 200 planned deals will reach the market by October 31, 2026.
