Nvidia Shares Rise Ahead of GTC Event

Nvidia Corporation's shares increased by 0.5% to $185.60 in premarket trading on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, following a 1.2% gain the previous day. This rise occurred as concerns regarding the chipmaker's supply chain disruptions eased and ahead of its GTC developer event, scheduled from March 16-19. Analysts anticipate the event will reinforce confidence in AI scalability and Nvidia's networking leadership.

During the GTC event, Nvidia is expected to unveil new hardware innovations, potentially including a new chip designed for AI inference. UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri projects that Nvidia will provide further details on its networking business, where it leads in revenue, and offer insights into system scalability and AI capital expenditure durability. The company recently invested $2 billion each in optical technology manufacturers Coherent and Lumentum, alongside multi-billion dollar purchase commitments, signaling a focus on co-packaged optics for high-speed data transfer.

Truist Securities analyst William Stein is looking for confirmation regarding the volume shipment of Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin hardware in the second half of 2026 and more information on the post-Rubin Feynman chip architecture. Nvidia also announced a significant investment in AI startup Thinking Machines Lab, which plans to deploy at least one gigawatt of Vera Rubin hardware, with deployment expected early next year as part of a multiyear collaboration.
