CBS is reportedly finalizing a new broadcast rights agreement with the National Football League (NFL) that could increase its annual payment by over $1 billion. This potential deal would see CBS's annual contribution rise from its current $2.1 billion.
The new arrangement is anticipated to commence as early as the next NFL season and would span an eight-year duration, replacing the existing contract that was set to expire after the 2029 season. The network is expected to retain its Sunday afternoon package, which includes two weekly broadcast windows and a prominent late-afternoon national game on an alternating basis, consistently attracting substantial viewership.
