Mourinho Calls Mbappe Criticism 'Ridiculous' Amid Injury Break

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho dismissed recent criticism of Kylian Mbappe's activities during the international break as "ridiculous," asserting the France captain fulfilled all club obligations. Mbappe, 27, withdrew from international duty after sustaining an injury on September 25 against Turkey, subsequently sharing social media images from Paris Fashion Week and cycling in Switzerland.

Club Standards Upheld

Mourinho defended Mbappe, stating that all Real Madrid players adhered to club expectations during the break. He emphasized the club's high standards, warning that any player failing to meet these would face immediate consequences, including removal from the squad.

Cycling Activity Clarified

The coach specifically addressed a photograph showing Mbappe cycling in Switzerland. Mourinho clarified that the hotel complex where Mbappe stayed provided bicycles for guests to use for short distances, indicating the activity did not breach recovery protocols. He reiterated his view that media coverage surrounding the incident was "ridiculous" rather than merely exaggerated.
