Ravens cancel Maxx Crosby trade after failed physical. Raiders face cap implications.

The Baltimore Ravens unexpectedly withdrew from a trade agreement for edge rusher Maxx Crosby on March 11, 2026, after Crosby failed a physical examination in Baltimore. This decision resulted in Crosby returning to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he resumed rehabilitation for a meniscus tear at the team's facility on Wednesday.
The failed physical, occurring two months post-surgery for a meniscus tear, prompted the Ravens to pursue an alternative, reportedly agreeing to a four-year, $112 million deal with Trey Hendrickson. Despite the trade's collapse, Crosby's agent, CJ LaBoy, stated that Crosby is ahead of schedule in his recovery and is expected to return during the offseason program. The Raiders, having operated under the assumption of Crosby's departure, committed $183 million in guaranteed money to several free agents, including a three-year, $81 million deal for former Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum. The team plans to honor these agreements, adding Crosby's $35.7 million cap hit to their financial commitments.
Reports indicate the Raiders are maintaining their asking price of two first-round picks for Crosby, a valuation previously rumored to include the 14th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Dallas Cowboys, initially considered a potential suitor, are reportedly not interested in pursuing a trade for Crosby, having acquired Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers.
