Israeli officials link French unrest to pro-Palestinian activism
Haaretz reported scant evidence for the connection, while Atlas360 reported hundreds of arrests at cost-of-living protests a day earlier.

Israeli officials sought on Oct. 18 to connect French unrest to pro-Palestinian activism, Haaretz said in a news report, after French police arrested hundreds of people at cost-of-living protests on Oct. 17, according to Atlas360.
The intervention matters because it placed Israel's official messaging inside a French dispute that had produced arrests in the hundreds a day earlier, versus what Haaretz described as scant evidence of a pro-Palestinian role.
Haaretz identified Israel’s Foreign Ministry and Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli as linking the protests to pro-Palestinian activism and immigration. The report said the evidentiary basis it found was limited to Palestinian flags among demonstrators.
The article also said far-right politicians in France blamed the unrest on immigration and warned of civil conflict. Those are political assertions in the report, not independently established causes of the demonstrations.
Atlas360 reported on Oct. 17 that French police arrested hundreds of people at cost-of-living protests. Images from Paris, Marseille and other cities showed clashes, road blockades and property damage, with price pressures tied to a wider social dispute.
