Intel Unveils New Core Ultra Processors

Intel announced the release of its Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop series on March 11, 2026, introducing four new unlocked SKUs to the Arrow Lake-S lineup. The new processors, including the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus ($299) and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus ($199), feature increased core counts and enhanced memory support. Retail availability for these chips is scheduled for March 26, 2026.

The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus now features 24 cores (8P+16E), while the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus has 18 cores (6P+12E). Intel states that die-to-die frequency has increased by up to 900 MHz compared to previous models, improving CPU and memory controller communication. The company claims these new processors offer up to 15% higher gaming performance and up to 103% better multithreaded performance against competitors in their respective segments.

Additionally, Intel has raised official DDR5 memory support to 7200 MT/s, up from 6400 MT/s, and introduced early support for 4-Rank CUDIMM memory, allowing up to 128GB per module on select Intel 800-series motherboards. The new chips also include a software layer called Intel Binary Optimization Tool, designed to improve performance in specific games. These processors are compatible with existing 800-series chipset motherboards.
