Gemini Rolls Out App Automation on Galaxy S26

Google's Gemini AI has initiated the rollout of its agentic task automation feature, also known as "screen automation," on Samsung Galaxy S26 series devices as of March 12, 2026. This functionality allows Gemini to control specific Android applications to perform tasks on a user's behalf. For example, users can command Gemini to order food from supported delivery services like Uber Eats, with the AI initiating the order process up to the final checkout stage.

The automation currently supports applications including Lyft, Uber, Grubhub, Doordash, Uber Eats, and Starbucks. Gemini handles actions such as adding items to a cart or setting locations, then notifies the user to finalize the transaction. While the feature aims to streamline multi-step processes, initial testing indicated some instances where the preview interface temporarily locked the device, requiring a reboot. Google plans to extend this feature to Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL devices in the future.
