Bluesky , the decentralized social media platform, said it has introduced a new artificial intelligence application called Attie on March 29, 2026 , positioning the tool as a way for users to shape what they see through more personalized content feeds.
According to the company, Attie was built by a team led by Chief Innovation Officer Jay Graber . The app uses Anthropic's Claude AI and is designed around user-entered prompts that describe what a person wants from their social media experience. Attie then interprets those prompts and surfaces posts it deems relevant.
Bluesky said the system is not limited to content hosted only on Bluesky. Attie is intended to pull in posts from Bluesky as well as from other compatible networks that operate on the atproto protocol, reflecting the platform’s broader approach to interoperability within that ecosystem.
CEO Toni Schneider said Attie is being released as a standalone product and described it as the first major launch from Graber’s newly formed innovation team. The company framed the release as a continuation of Bluesky’s long-standing focus on user control and customization, which it said has been a core principle since the platform’s early development.
The company unveiled Attie at Bluesky’s 2026 Atmosphere conference . Attendees at the event reportedly began beta testing the product, which Bluesky described as unfinished at the time of the demonstration, indicating that the app is still in development even as early users try it.
For global markets, the announcement highlights how social platforms are increasingly packaging AI features as separate products rather than only embedding them inside existing apps. Bluesky’s approach also underscores a competitive push around personalization tools that can work across multiple services, particularly where shared protocols such as atproto enable content to move between compatible networks.
Several details remain unclear based on the company’s announcement, including the scope of the beta, the timeline for a broader release, and how Attie will be distributed to users outside the conference setting. Bluesky also did not specify how prompts are handled operationally beyond stating that Claude AI is used to process them and return relevant posts.
