AMD beats Q1 estimates, raises Q2 revenue forecast on AI data-center demand

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) reported first-quarter 2026 results that topped analyst expectations and issued a stronger-than-expected revenue outlook for the current quarter, citing demand for its artificial intelligence chips.

Shares rose more than 18% in premarket trading Wednesday asourceser the company released results asourceser the bell Tuesday.

Q1 results AMD reported earnings per share of $1.37 on revenue of $10.25 billion. Analysts had expected EPS of $1.28 and revenue of $9.89 billion, according to sources consensus estimates.

A year earlier, the company posted EPS of $0.96 and revenue of $7.43 billion.

AMD said data center revenue was $5.8 billion, up 57% year over year and above expectations of $5.6 billion.

Outlook and product plans For the second quarter, AMD forecast revenue of $10.9 billion to $11.5 billion, above Wall Street’s average estimate of $10.52 billion.

AMD attributed the outlook to growing demand for CPUs and GPUs in data centers as AI adoption expands. The company also said it is preparing to launch its Helios rack-scale system, which will integrate AMD GPUs and CPUs for server applications.
