AMD CEO to Meet Samsung Chairman

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) CEO Lisa Su will meet Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee in South Korea next week, specifically on March 18, to discuss cooperation on securing high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips. This meeting aims to address the surging demand for HBM, DRAM, and NAND memory, critical components for artificial intelligence (AI) chipsets used by companies like AMD and Nvidia in developing data centers and AI systems.

Su is also scheduled to meet with Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon during her visit. Discussions with Naver are expected to cover broader collaboration, including expanding semiconductor supplies for data centers, building sovereign AI infrastructure, and exploring next-generation computing technologies. Naver confirmed a meeting with AMD but did not disclose the agenda.

The visit coincides with Nvidia's annual developer conference, GTC, running from March 16 to 19 in San Jose, California. Samsung Electronics declined to comment on the reported meeting.
