Xbox says more Project Helix next-gen console details will come later in 2026

Micrososources’s Xbox division says it will share additional information later in 2026 about its next-generation console project, codenamed “Project Helix.”

The update follows a recent “Game Dev Update” show that was expected to include new details but largely replayed the same Project Helix segment previously shown at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in March.

During the presentation, Xbox Director of Program Management Jason Ronald reiterated that dedicated hardware remains central to the company’s plans.

> “The console is absolutely core to Xbox, it is the heart of who we are, it will always be around, and it is critically important to our future.”

Xbox did not provide a specific date for the next Project Helix reveal. Possible windows mentioned include the Xbox Games Showcase in June, The Game Awards in December, or events tied to Xbox’s 25th anniversary in November.

The company’s message appears aimed at setting expectations following the re-aired GDC content, while confirming that more Project Helix news is planned before the end of 2026.
