Ravens Waive Pavia to Sign Pocic

The Baltimore Ravens waived rookie quarterback Diego Pavia on Thursday to accommodate the signing of veteran center Ethan Pocic. The roster move comes as the organization prepares for the official start of training camp, with rookies reporting on Friday and veterans scheduled to arrive next Tuesday.

Pocic joins the roster on a one-year contract valued at up to $4.5 million. The addition of the veteran center provides depth to the offensive line, while the departure of Pavia reduces the team's quarterback room to three players: starter Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley, and Joe Fagnano.

Pavia, an undrafted free agent signed in April, concluded his collegiate career at Vanderbilt as a first-team All-American and SEC Offensive Player of the Year. Despite his collegiate success, which included leading the program to its first 10-win season, concerns regarding his physical profile and off-field conduct persisted throughout the pre-draft process. The Ravens will now move forward with their established quarterback rotation as they begin their preseason preparations.
