Anthony Edwards downplays Finch’s ‘punked’ comment after Game 2 blowout loss to Spurs

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards responded on Wednesday, May 7, 2026, asourceser head coach Chris Finch said the team was “punked” in a lopsided 133-95 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of their second-round playoff series.

“Punked is crazy,” Edwards said when asked about Finch’s remark. “But, I mean, just look at the film and see what we can gain from it.”

San Antonio’s win evened the series at 1-1. The Spurs got a balanced offensive effort, with all five starters and six players overall scoring in double figures. Stephon Castle led San Antonio with 21 points, while Victor Wembanyama added 19 points and 15 rebounds.

The Spurs also controlled the glass, out-rebounding Minnesota 55-43, and the Timberwolves hurt themselves with 22 turnovers.

Edwards played 24 minutes and scored 12 points as he continues to play through a hyperextended knee and a bone bruise. He said decisions about his minutes and whether he returns to the starting lineup are not up to him, while emphasizing that Minnesota must match the Spurs’ physicality in the games ahead.

Minnesota entered Game 2 with a 1-0 lead in the series before San Antonio’s response.
