The Carolina Panthers announced several roster adjustments on Saturday, bringing in three new players and waiving three others following Friday's workout evaluations. The team added defensive tackles Kyon Barrs and Elijah Garcia, alongside cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson, to their 90-man roster. In corresponding moves, offensive tackle Derrell Bailey, linebacker Jared Bartlett, and cornerback Mike Reid were released.

Defensive Tackle Garcia Brings Prior NFL Experience

This personnel shift aims to enhance depth in both the defensive line and the secondary. Elijah Garcia is the sole new acquisition with prior NFL regular season experience, having participated in 17 games with the Denver Broncos, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons over the past four seasons. During this time, Garcia recorded 28 tackles and two sacks, demonstrating his capability on the defensive front.

New Prospects Boost Secondary and Interior Defense

Kyon Barrs and DeCarlos Nicholson, the other two signings, each bring experience from brief stints with other NFL organizations. Barrs previously spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals, while Nicholson was with the Cleveland Browns after going undrafted earlier this year. These additions represent the Panthers' strategy to blend experienced players with promising developmental prospects.
