Pakistan, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia will convene their army chiefs to coordinate assistance to Riyadh, officials said, aiming to blunt recent Houthi attacks under the Makkah Defence Alliance.
Officials said the meeting follows a recent trilateral defence pact signed in New York and is meant to translate that agreement into operational coordination between the three militaries.
Makkah alliance to convene chiefs
Officials said the chiefs will discuss mechanisms for military assistance and joint planning to help Riyadh respond to Houthi strikes. The announcement framed the session as a step to align logistics, communications and command links among the partners without giving operational details.
Officials said the move is intended to bolster Saudi defenses and present a coordinated deterrent to groups mounting cross-border attacks. They added the partnership is also meant to reassure regional partners about protecting maritime and overland corridors affected by the strikes.
Officials said the meeting is due this week and that participating militaries will report back to political leaders with recommendations for follow-up steps. The timing and composition of any subsequent deployments were not disclosed.
