Orange Board of Selectmen will discuss Amazon’s drone-delivery service and $3,498.04 in tax refunds at its Wednesday, Oct. 14 meeting, according to an Oct. 12 Patch local-government report.

The agenda puts Amazon alongside routine municipal business for the 2026-27 service year, including snowplowing and tree-removal bids, with no Patch-reported financial terms for the drone item.

Selectmen are also scheduled to consider authorizing First Selectman James Zeoli to execute a Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development grant for accessibility improvements at the Racebrook Tract. The work is tied to Americans with Disabilities Act improvements, Patch reported. The report did not give the grant amount.

Town Engineer Bob Brinton is set to present four bid recommendations for board consideration. The proposals cover snowplowing services and tree removal for 2026-27, street sweeping services, and repairs to Sylvan Valley Road in Orange, Connecticut.

The board is scheduled to consider approving those recommendations at the meeting. Patch did not report vendor names, bid values, contract lengths beyond the 2026-27 snowplowing and tree-removal period, or a construction schedule for the Sylvan Valley Road repairs.

Town Counsel Owen Weaver will present a proposed communication policy for the Board of Selectmen, according to Patch. The agenda lists the item for discussion and possible action, but the report did not describe the policy’s provisions.

Selectmen are also due to consider the tax refunds requested by Zeoli and approve minutes from the board’s Sept. 9 meeting. The agenda includes time for public participation, with comments limited to two minutes per speaker.

For Amazon, the reported agenda offers a narrow local-government reference point rather than a company disclosure. Patch did not report the delivery area, launch timing, drone model, local permitting question, expected vote or any comment from Amazon.

That distinction matters for investors and policy readers because a municipal discussion does not by itself establish a commercial rollout, regulatory approval or financial effect. The supplied report contains no market reaction, company filing or statement from Amazon on the Orange agenda item.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the lower-level meeting room at Orange Town Hall, 617 Orange Center Road.

Patch reported that the Board of Selectmen agenda is the basis for the listed meeting items.
