Nintendo said it will raise the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of its Switch 2 console worldwide, citing changes in market conditions and the global business outlook.
The timing varies by region. In Japan, the new prices take effect on May 25, 2026, while revised pricing in the United States, Canada, and Europe is scheduled for September 1, 2026.
Switch 2 price changes by region
Nintendo Switch 2 will rise by:
- United States: $449.99 to $499.99 (prices shown do not include tax)
- Canada: $629.99 to $679.99 (prices shown do not include tax)
- Europe (My Nintendo Store): €469.99 to €499.99 (prices shown include tax)
- Japan (Japanese-language system, Japan only): ¥49,980 to ¥59,980
Nintendo noted that the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 Multi-Language System available from the My Nintendo Store in Japan will remain unchanged.
Japan: original Switch and Switch Online also increasing
Nintendo is also revising prices in Japan for original Nintendo Switch models:
- Nintendo Switch (OLED Model): ¥37,980 to ¥47,980
- Nintendo Switch: ¥32,978 to ¥43,980
- Nintendo Switch Lite: ¥21,978 to ¥29,980
In Japan, Nintendo Switch Online membership prices are also set to rise:
- Individual membership: 1 month ¥306 to ¥400; 3 months ¥815 to ¥1,000; 12 months ¥2,400 to ¥3,000
- Family membership (12 months): ¥4,500 to ¥5,800
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack in Japan is also increasing:
- Individual membership (12 months): ¥4,900 to ¥5,900
- Family membership (12 months): ¥8,900 to ¥9,900
