NFL says schedule release is ‘almost here’ as May 13-14 window reported

The NFL has told fans that the 2024 regular-season schedule release is approaching, using an email sent on Thursday, May 7 teasing that the “schedule release is almost here.”

The league has not officially confirmed a release date, but a May 13 or May 14 publication window has been reported. NFL vice president of broadcast planning Mike North said in April the schedule would not be released until commissioner Roger Goodell believes it is ready, with the process potentially stretching into the week of May 18.

While the full 272-game slate has yet to be announced, two matchups have been reported: the San Francisco 49ers are expected to play the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, Sept. 10 (reportedly to be streamed on Netflix), and the Baltimore Ravens are slated to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Sept. 27.

It is also known that the Seattle Seahawks will host the season’s first game on Wednesday, Sept. 9, though their opponent has not been disclosed.
