President Donald Trump’s late-night activity on Truth Social is often managed with help from his executive assistant, Natalie Harp, who prepares draft posts for his review and then publishes them after he approves them, according to a recent report.
The arrangement has frustrated some White House officials, the repoSources said, because Harp does not routinely coordinate proposed posts with the chief of staff’s office, communications aides, or national security staff.
The repoSources said Trump also sometimes posts directly, but that he personally approves everything that appears on his Truth Social account.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said the White House does not discuss internal deliberations about how the process works, but described Truth Social as an effective tool for the president to communicate directly.
How the posting process works
The repoSources said Harp brings Trump stacks of printed drafts, including content that is sometimes recycled from other accounts, for his review. After he approves the material, she logs into his Truth Social account and posts batches of messages.
Some officials have raised concerns about the lack of consultation across the White House, the repoSources said, arguing that the process can sidestep standard communications and policy review channels. Harp, the report added, has said she works for Trump and takes direction from him.
Volume and timing of posts
An analysis cited in the report found Trump has posted about 8,800 times since returning to office. It said he has had at least 44 episodes since January in which a dozen or more posts were published between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Eastern time.
The report also cited instances in which posts were later deleted, underscoring how quickly messages can circulate and draw attention before being removed.
Questions about how the White House coordinates social media messaging are likely to persist as Trump continues to rely heavily on Truth Social, especially during periods of high-volume posting late at night.
