Senator Amarilla utilized racial slurs in a social media communication to describe Mbappé, a 27-year-old forward, while casting doubts on his national identity and conduct during the match. The FFF condemned these statements as criminal and unacceptable, emphasizing that the insults targeted not only Mbappé but the entire French national team.

Mbappé Rejects Senator's Accusations

Mbappé publicly addressed the incident, characterizing the senator's comments as reckless and not representative of the Paraguayan populace. He issued a statement defending both himself and the Paraguayan players, asserting that such hateful rhetoric should not be allowed to proliferate.
