Jio’s $108 billion IPO pitch tests India equities
Akash Ambani laid out AI, cloud and debt-reduction plans as Jio seeks a technology valuation before listing.

Jio is pitching itself as a technology company ahead of an IPO valued at $108 billion, a listing described in the material as India’s largest public offering. Reaction pending.
The valuation would make the sale a defining test for Indian equities, with investors asked to price Jio beyond its telecom base and against its artificial intelligence and cloud plans.
Jio technology pitch
Akash Ambani said Jio should be viewed as a technology company, not only a telecom operator, according to the material. He pointed to artificial intelligence and cloud services as areas tied to the company’s next phase.
Company officials also set out debt-reduction plans before the listing. The material did not give a timetable for the IPO, the expected free float, the amount to be raised or the exchange venue.
For Reliance Industries, Jio’s parent group, the public offering would create a market price for a business that has become central to its consumer and digital strategy. For the wider sector, the sale would test whether Indian public-market investors assign technology-style multiples to a telecom-linked platform.
From Oct. 20, 2026, the next dated marker is any formal IPO filing or company update that gives the offer size, listing venue, debt target and timetable.
