Breece Hall agrees three-year Jets extension worth up to $45.75 million

New York Jets running back Breece Hall has agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $43.5 million and up to $45.75 million, according to sources cited by ESPN. The deal includes $29 million guaranteed and comes asourceser Hall was given the franchise tag on March 3.

The tag carried a value of $14.3 million. Without a long-term agreement by the July 15 deadline, Hall would have been required to play the 2026 season on a one-year contract at that figure.

At an average of $14.5 million per year, the extension ranks Hall fourth among NFL running backs in average annual value, behind Saquon Barkley ($20.6 million), Christian McCaffrey ($19 million) and Derrick Henry ($15 million). ESPN reported Hall moved ahead of Kenneth Walker III ($14.35 million), who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in March.

The extension is notable given Hall’s name was discussed in trade talks last fall, with league expectation that he could be moved at the deadline. Instead, the Jets have kept him as a central piece of their rebuild.

Hall, who turns 25 on May 31, rushed for a career-high 1,065 yards in 2025 despite the Jets finishing 3-14. Across four seasons, he has totalled 5,040 scrimmage yards.

ESPN noted the Jets have pointed to Hall’s potential as a dual threat, and that role could expand under new offensive coordinator Frank Reich asourceser Hall finished 2025 with 36 receptions.
